PURPOSE: A structure for opening and closing a suction panel of an air conditioner is provided to increase volume of introduced air and enhance appearance of an indoor unit. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes a chassis(50) fixed on a wall, and having a front side opening; a front panel(60) joined to a front side of the chassis, forming a receiving space for a heat exchanger(51) and a driving motor(52) together with the chassis, and having an upper inlet(61) formed on an upper side thereof, a front inlet formed on a front side thereof, and an outlet formed on a lower side thereof; a suction panel(70) having a lower end fixed to the front panel by a detachable fixing unit to cover the front inlet; and a covering restricting unit opening the front inlet covered by the suction panel to increase volume of introduced air. The outlet is formed on the lower side of the front panel to allow air having passed the heat exchanger to be discharged to the lower side of the front panel. An air filter(65) is mounted on the front panel to filter large foreign matters contained in air introduced through the upper inlet and the front inlet. A dust collector(67) is installed on an inside of the air filter to ionize and collect foreign matters mixed with introduced air. |
