PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to keep the cell gap uniform and to stably proceed with the joining/aligning steps and scribe/break steps without any scratches by forming ball spacers with column spacers. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates(30,33) respectively formed with thin film transistors and color filters, and column and ball spacers(31,32). The column spacers are formed to the second substrate. The ball spacers are randomly scattered between the substrates before joining the substrates to be irregularly aligned to active and dummy areas. In the case that alignment control is carried out by moving the substrates, the ball spacers promote the movement of the substrates without any big friction or scratches by the rolling characteristics thereof. |
