PURPOSE: Provided are a method and an apparatus for preparing nanoparticles by laser ablation. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of pressuring and heating solid powder which is a raw material for nanoparticles to be solid powder conglomerates, and irradiating laser beams to the conglomerates to be ablated. The apparatus comprises a pressuring and heating unit with a casing(10) for receiving solid powders therein, heaters(13) provided at external side surfaces of the casing(10) for heating the powder(11) in the casing(10), and a pressurizing device(12) for applying pressure to the solid powder(11) from an upper portion of the casing(10), and a laser ablation unit with a vessel filled with fluid, conglomerate provided in the vessel, a lens for increasing energy of laser pulse and irradiating the laser pulse with the increased energy to the conglomerate.
