A wood- or wood fiber-plastics product with a wood content of at least59.9 wt.% is obtained by foaming in an extruder with integral calibration and cooling zones a mixture of by wt. (a) wood, sawdust or wood fibers (59.9-94.9%); (b) a thermoplastic resin (5-40%); and (c) foaming agent (0.1-10%).
