PURPOSE: A system and a method for generating and releasing a security document, using on-line fingerprint authentication, is provided so that only person, who are authenticated through a fingerprint recognition device on the Internet, open and edit a received document. CONSTITUTION: A database previously stores fingerprint information of a security document sender and a security document recipient. A fingerprint authentication server(100) interworks with the database, receives fingerprint authentication request signals of the sender and the recipient, confirms whether the sender and the recipient have authority for releasing a security document, and interworks with an application server which manages a web site of a service provider on the Internet. A sender-side fingerprint recognition device(10) is used when releasing the security document received without passing the fingerprint authentication server(100), and inputs fingerprint data of the sender when the sender lays a finger to be used when the sender releases a password. A shell expansion component(110) performs functions for designating a menu indicating when pushing a right button of a mouse, a help about the menu, and a code or program to be used when selecting the menu. If the sender selects a general document and pushes a certain button on a screen of a computer, a security document generation software(40) is executed through the shell expansion component(110). If the recipient double-clicks a security document file by a left button of the mouse, for releasing the security document, a security document release software(70) is executed. The security document release software(70) receives a fingerprint from the recipient. A recipient-side fingerprint recognition device(90) inputs fingerprint data of the recipient when the recipient lays a finger corresponding to the fingerprint registered in the database, for confirming the identity of the recipient.
