PURPOSE: An electron gun is provided to achieve improved focus characteristics by reducing a convergence drift and size of electron beam spot all over the screen. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a focus electrode(31) arranged in a neck portion(10) of a bulb of a cathode ray tube; and an anode electrode(32) which cooperates with the focus electrode so as to constitute a main lens unit, wherein the anode electrode has a size different from the size of the focus electrode. One of the focus electrode and the anode electrode covers the other electrode. At least one auxiliary electrode is arranged in one of the focus electrode and the anode electrode.
