Flame resistant compsns. comprising 25-80% phenol formaldehyde resin binder and 30-120 wt.% based on resin, of inorganic fillers contg. 10-42% powdery Mg silicate. The compsns. are prepd. by mixing above fillers, opt. with other fillers, pref. mica, with the resin at 20-80 degrees C, adding 12-15 wt.% of an acidic catalyst for the condensation reactn. and 0.5-3.5% blowing agent, while stirring vigorously and almost immediately extruding the mixt. at 180 degrees C after mixing. An equipment for mixing and metering the product is claimed which makes it possible to use materials of high and densities. The compsns. are used pref as laminates in construction panels for tall buildings. |
