The dyes are of formula (I): (in which R is -R2O(SO3)m-1H, R1 is H, lower alkyl, alkoxy or acylamino or halogen; R2 is -CH2CH2-, -(CH2)3-, -CH2CH(CH3)-, -CH2CH(oh) CH2-, CH(C2H5)-CH2-, or -CH(CH3)-(CH2)-p-R3 is -CH2-, -CH(CH3)CH2C(CH3)2-, -CH(CH3)CH2CH2- or -CHCH2-CH2-R4 is H or 1-8C alkyl, R5 is -CH2,-(CH2)2- CH2CH(CH3)2 or -CH(CH3)-, R6 is H or lower alkyl, alkylene, is -CH2-, -(CH2)2- CH(CH3)-, -CH(CH3)-CH2- or -CH2CH (CH3)-, n is 1 or 2; n is 1-3; p is 1-6, ring C may have 1-3 lower alkyl or alkoxy, substits and if m is 1, ring B carries a sulphonic acid gp). They are made by condensing 1 mol of halogenated anthraquione cpd of formula (I) with halogen in phase of -NHR, with 1 mol amine of formula RNH2. The dyes give brilliant shades with very good wet fastness and resistance to abrasion and dry-cleaning.
