COMBINATION FLUID FLOW SPEED AND DIRECTION TRANSDUCER

A transducer including an anemometer having a magnetic flux concentrator in one arm thereof and including an earth's magnetic field sensitive device for providing a first electric signal which is a measure of both wind direction and the direction of the earth's magnetic field. A permanent magnet fixed to the rotating anemometer energizes once each revolution thereof a reed switch positioned by a wind vane, thereby producing another electric signal which corresponds to the wind direction. Both signals are applied to an indicator which provides a simultaneous indication of wind speed and wind direction relative to the earth's magnetic north pole.
