The fan is for a vehicle with an electronically commutated electric motor preferably formed of an external rotor type brush-free DC motor which drives a fan wheel (9). The control circuitry is arranged in a regulator housing (57) connected to the fan housing. The outer circumference of the regulator housing (57) is provided with cooling ribs (61) arranged in the flow direction of the cool air stream generated by the fan wheel. The regulator housing (57) is fastened outside the outer ring (13) of the fan wheel (9) to the ventilator housing (19). The cooling ribs (61) are arranged integrally on the regulator housing (57) such that they extend to the middle of the cool air stream.
