Process for recovering argon from air in a rectification system using a low temperature decomposition method comprises passing a fluid containing oxygen and argon into the first of the two partial sections of a second rectification section, and removing a stream (13) containing oxygen and argon from the second section (7) of the two partial sections. The argon concentration in the stream removed from the second partial section lies between 15% and 50%, preferably between 15% and 40%, especially between 20% and 35%.
