METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC FOAMED COMPOSITE

A method for producing a plastic foamed composite, which comprises placing a powder or fine particles of a plastic and polyolefin granules containing a crosslinking agent and a blowing agent having a size greater than that of said powder or fine particles into a thick mold in a way such that they can move within the mold, heating the mold while rotating it, to form a surface skin of the plastic and allow the polyolefin granules to adhere to the inside of the surface skin, heating further the mold to the decomposition temperature of the blowing agent, to thereby effect blowing and expand the polyolefin granules from the inner surface toward the inside of the mold into one piece having no boundary between foamed granules while keeping the pressure inside the mold in the range of 1.5 to 5.0 kgf/cm<2>, and then cooling and curing the surface skin and the resultant foamed core. The method can be employed for producing a plastic foamed composite composed of a surface skin of a plastic and a core of a polyolefin foam with good efficiency and at a low cost.
