PURPOSE: A tension adjuster for a belt of a commercial vehicle is provided to transmit power of the belt actively by adjusting tension of the belt automatically and accurately according to travel condition, and to extend the life span of the belt by reducing wear. CONSTITUTION: A tension adjuster for a belt(25) of a commercial vehicle comprises an idle pulley(20) supported by a shaft support part(21) to hold the track of the belt; a cam(40) contacted to the lower part of an upper plate(31) integrally formed with the shaft support part and composed of a belt groove; an intermediate plate(32) fastened to a support bar(43) supporting a central shaft(41) of the cam to fix the upper part of an air bag(34); the air bag inserted between the intermediate plate and a lower plate(33) fixed to a vehicle body frame(90); a position detecting roller(50) having an annular groove(53) winding a string(70) and a belt pulley(54), and suspending to the lower part of the intermediate plate by a hinge bracket(52); the string wound on the annular grove of the roller, fixed to the lower plate and connected to a spring(73); an operating belt(60) connecting the belt pulley formed in the position detecting roller and a belt pulley(44) of the cam; and a bellows cover(80) connecting and surrounding the upper plate and the intermediate plate.
