The pistol has a housing (2) made of two half-shells (21) which are fastened together. A reduced diameter portion (23) at the front has a circular nozzle (24) protruding from it. A tapering heat shield (3) surrounds the nozzle an can be pulled forward to completely shield it. The heat shield has a tapering housing (31) and side rails or tongues (33) which fit into grooves (231) in the sides of the pistol housing. There is a catch (32) in the side of the heat shield.
