The buckle, for a vehicle safety belt, has a measurement system to register the belt force using magnets and a magnetic field sensor. To switch off interference magnetic fields acting on the measurement assembly (26,28), an additional sensor (30) for magnetic field interference is linked to the measurement system so that a change in the sensor output signal is converted into a correction to the control signal from the sensor, so that its output signal remains constant. The carrier plate (25) for the sensor is linked by a cable (31) to the carrier plate (27) for the sensor.
