Outer walls (2) are formed by interconnected wooden wall panels (20) as used in above-ground construction. Areas of the walls (2) permanently exposed to moisture, and preferably the entire external wall surface (21), are covered by a strongly-adherent coating (5) of an elastomer. This covers all: panels, joints (205) and edges (215, 315). It resists all effects of moisture, especially ground moisture.
