Heating apparatus for a baking oven

An automatically-operated wood-fired bread oven especially has a temperature sensor linked to an air supply and effluent system. A bread oven (200) has a heated chamber (210) with a hinged hatch (220) and heater (100), and a hatch (110) protected inlet for the admission of hot air to the chamber (210). The chamber further has a hatch-regulated (121) hot air outlet. The heater has a burner chamber (130) producing hot air, a conveyer which (140) transfers solid fuel from a bunker (300) to the burner chamber (130) and a solid fuel ignition system. An air feed maintains a supply of oxygen to the wood burner chamber. Excess hot air is released from the burner chamber by a flap (171) to a by-pass (170). The oven is automatically operated and optimized especially with the assistance of a sensor (180) which monitors the chamber (130) baking process. An Independent claim is included for an assembly which, during baking, holds the fire hatch (110) and hot air escape hatch (121) open and the by-pass flap (171) closed, or the fire hatch (110) and hot air escape hatch (121) closed and the by-pass flap (171) open.
