The colour-developer may be applied in an aqueous or organic medium, optionally containing a natural or synthetic polymeric binder. A single recording sheet may be coated on the same side as the developer layer with microcapsules of a colour-former. Alternatively a lower sheet coated with the developer may be used with an upper one bearing a colour-former layer. An intermediate sheet therefor carries the colour-developer and colour former coatings on opposite surfaces. The phenol may be a halo-, nitro-, alkylsulphonyl-, arylsulphonyl-, cyano-, or.halocyanoderivative, a bisphenol, or a hydroxyhalophenylsulphone, and the preferred metals are Zn, Ni, Mn, Cn, Mg and Ca. A "colourformer" is defined as an electron-donative (or piston-acceptive) substantially colourless organic compound. Conventional colour-formers are specified, and the recording sheets are prepared in known manner.</p> |
