<p>A hand pull exercise device comprises at least one set of pullers 1, foot plates 2 linked to the pullers 1, pull ropes 5 and handgrips 6 or a control rod 7 attachable to one end of the pull ropes 5. Each puller 1 comprises a spring rewound reel (4, figure 4) onto which the rope 5 is wound, a friction brake mechanism (figure 6) for adjusting the load needed to pull the rope 5 and a handbrake mechanism (3, figures 5 and 6). The friction brake mechanism (figure 6) comprises a brake drum (31), a band (32) encircling the brake drum (31) and an adjustment device (15, 16, 151) such that when knob (15) is screwed inwards the band (32) is tightened around the brake drum (31) to increase the frictional load resisting the rotation of the reel (4). The handbrake (3, figures 4 and 5) comprises a lever (33) with cam (331) mounted on a rod (34), such that lifting of the lever to the position shown in figure 5 moves rod (34) to the right thus disengaging the rod (34) from a lock nut (35) and allowing the rotation of the reel (4).</p> |
