摘要 <p>1371082 Honeycomb structure ENGELHARD MINERALS & CHEMICALS CORP 1 Nov 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 50735/71 Headings C1J and C1M [Also in Divisions C7 and B6] A three-dimensional unitary honeycomb structure is made by mixing an inorganic powder and a removable vehicle which is solid at room temperature and liquid at elevated temperatures, applying the hot mixture to a stencil having islands and open spaces therebetween, forcing a portion through the stencil to form a layer which cools and solidifies to a pattern according to the stencil, repeating the application so as to build up a structure with a plurality of channels therethrough corresponding to the positions of the islands on the stencil, and sintering the structure to produce the unitary structure. Structures can be made from ceramic material, glass, alumina, zirconia, an aluminosilicate, tungsten, silver, ruthenium or a mixture thereof. Fugitative materials, e.g. carbon, may be added to the ceramic composition to produce pores on sintering, and a colloidal refractory material, e.g. SiO2, may be incorporated in with the inorganic powder. The removable vehicle comprises a wax and a thermoplastic resin.</p>
