Cistern comprises an integrated hand basin (7) removably fixed to the upper side of the cistern and having a recess with a water outlet (10) arranged in the central region of its base, and a water tap (6) opening over the recess. The hand basin has a symmetrical design. At least two, preferably four, additional water outlets (11) are provided in the base of the recess. Preferred Features: The additional water outlets are arranged in the corner regions of the base of the recess and consist of a number of openings having a smaller cross-section than the cross-section of the central water outlet.
