PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for assisting the fitting and removal of a game board which facilitates work of the fitting and removal of the game board. SOLUTION: In a game machine which is equipped with the game board 20 formed in a prescribed gage setting and wherein a game is conducted by shooting a game ball into a game area by a ball shooting device, a member 52 for temporarily supporting the game board which can be displaced by a swing to be projected and retracted in the direction of the fitting and removal of the game board 20 is provided in the lower part of a holding frame 11 supporting the game board 20 so that it can be fitted and removed, so as to constitute the mechanism 50 for assisting the fitting and removal of the game board. The member 52 can be folded to be held in the holding frame 11 when the game machine is submitted to play, while it is projected and displaced in the direction of the fitting and removal of the game board 20 so that it can support the game board 20 temporarily, when the game board 20 is fitted or removed for a maintenance operation or others.
