INHIBITOR OF INCREASED SERUM CHOLESTEROL LEVEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new inhibitor of an increased serum cholesterol level utilized for inhibiting the increased serum cholesterol level according to ingestion of a food with a high-cholesterol content and/or a food and drink having inhibitory actions on the increased serum cholesterol level.

SOLUTION: The inhibitor comprises a microbial cell obtained by culturing a lactic acid bacterium belonging to Lactobacillus gasseri and its cultured product as an active ingredient. The food and drink is prepared by adding the cultured product and/or microbial cell as the active ingredient thereto.
