<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine in which interest on display is improved by enriching variation of variable display by performing the variable display on a variable display device into contents different for each of a plurality of kinds of background pictures and interest of a game is improved by imparting game value based upon appearance of a ready-to-win situation. <P>SOLUTION: A background picture constitution group is composed of a plurality of kinds of background pictures 310a-310c corresponding to the kind of each of variable display to perform the plurality of kinds of variable display and on any one of the background pictures 310a-310c selected out of the background picture constitution group, a display control means carries out the variable display with identification information 311-313 or the like associated with the background pictures 310a-310c.
