PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer allowing a thermal paper feeding property which is excellent in stable printing quality regardless of high temperature and high humidity or low temperature conditions with a longer operating life, for the thermal paper especially for a high preservation paper. SOLUTION: The printer applies a release agent on a printing surface of the thermal paper in its path from a roll paper to a thermal head. The thermal paper is supplied from the roll paper, pressed by a platen roll to contact the heating resistor of the thermal head, made to develop a color by an energy conducted from an heating resistor, and is fed by the rotation of the plate roll in the printer.
