The drive (1) is for the mechanical displacement and positioning relatively to each other of at least two two-sided toothed racks (2,3) in furniture. It has a drive shaft (5) provided with at least two axially apart worms (8). Two pairs of worm wheels (10-13) engage on the worms. Gearwheels (14-17) are coupled to the worm wheels and in pairs engage in opposite sides of the two-sided toothed racks. The drive shaft is coupled to a motor (6) and is provided with an opened head side, in which engages a coupling pin coupled to the motor. The two worm/worm wheel combinations are so formed that the worm wheel pairs on rotation of the drive shaft rotate in opposite directions.
