PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphonodihydropyran derivative useful as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and their intermediates. SOLUTION: The phosphonodihydropyran derivative of formula (3) (R1and R2are H, a 1-6C alkyl or a 6-10C aromatic group; R3is a 1-4C alkyl; R4, R5, R6and R7are each H, a 1-6C alkyl, a 1-4C alkoxy, a 1-6C alkylthio, an arylthio or a 6-10C aromatic group; and R4and R6and/or R5and R7may together form X-CR10R11-CR12R13-CR14R15is produced by reacting a phosphonoacrolein derivative of formula (1) (the definitions of R1to R3are the same as those described above) with an olefin compound of formula (2) (the definitions of R4to R7are the same as those described above).
