The beam (1) comprises a horizontal elongated steel plate (2) which forms length flanges on either side, and two substantially vertical steel arms (3, 3) secured to the length sides of the plate, which form supports (4, 4) for beams preferably made from concrete. The arms are provided with vertical pleats so that they can be readily deformed in their direction. The space between the arms can be filled with concrete (8), which locks the pleats into place once it has set, so that the beam is fixed in its pre-determined deformed position. |
