<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device which can automatically re-starting measurement after releasing unusual condition even if the unusual condition is generated in carrying of sheets during measurement of roller stopping/driving characteristic when stopping and re-starting carrying of the sheets. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device has a carrying means, a control means, a first sensor, a second sensor, a measuring means for stopping carrying of the sheets between the first sensor and the second sensor and re-starting carrying of the sheets after the predetermined time passes to measure the time between a detection of a sheet end by the first sensor and a detection of the sheet end by the second sensor, and an unusual condition detecting means for detecting the generation of unusual condition in carrying of the sheets during the measurement by the measuring time. The control means controls the carrying means to interrupt carrying of the sheets in response to an unusual condition generation signal from the unusual condition detecting means and to release the interruption of carrying of the sheets in response to an unusual condition release signal to re-start carrying of the sheets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
