<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag type occupant crash protection device equipped with a lid having high assembling workability to an instrument panel. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag type occupant crash protection device has an inflator 2, an airbag 5, and a retainer 4, and makes the airbag budge into a vehicle compartment by pushing aside the lid from an opening 7a of the instrument panel 7. Hook portions 12 are provided on outside surfaces of a pair of walls of the retainer opposite to each other. A plurality of engaging pieces 13 engaging with the hook portions, and a plurality of claw portions at least partially disposed separately from the engaging pieces so as to positionally and definitely engage only the lid with an opening inner peripheral portion of the instrument panel are protrusively provided on the lid. At least either one of the hook portion or the engaging pieces is elastically deformed to engaged with each other. Therefore, only by pressing in the lid so as to put on the instrument panel, the lid can be engaged with the retainer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
