<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which the length of a recording sheet being consumed can be reduced even if the image width is narrower than the recording sheet width by reducing the marginal part of the recording sheet on which an image is recorded. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging means for recording an image on a recording sheet 2, and a means for controlling the imaging means wherein the control means can convert an original image 1 to be recorded into an edition image 3. The edition image 3 divides the original image 1 in the longitudinal direction depending on the recording sheet width W of the recording sheet 2, rotates the divided images by 90° and arranges them sequentially in the carrying direction of the recording sheet 2.
