<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which even an overlapped image can be printed at high speed by utilizing the fractional part of the storage capacity at an image data storage section thereby controlling increase of storage capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises an actual image data storing section 17 for storing the image data of an actual image while assigning one or more of storage unit blocks of a specified capacity thereto, a control section 16 for the image storing section, an I/O interface section 11, a print processing section 14, a program storing section 12, and a control section 13. The control section 16 for the image storing section comprises an actual image data fractional area detecting section 23 for detecting the arrangement and capacity of stored actual image data, a fractional area data I/O control section 25 for writing/ reading the image data of an overlapped image, and an overlapped image data arrangement storing section 26 for storing at least the start position in the arrangement of the overlapped image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
