PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment apparatus for waste water which enhances separation ability and easily suppresses the cost. SOLUTION: Bubbles B are formed in a bubble-forming vessel 13 by the gas fed into treating water F3 flowing out of a treating water vessel 15 which is returned by a return pipe 16 through a gas feeding means 18. Solid material S diffused into treating water F1 in the bubble-forming vessel 13 by a stirrer 21 is floated together with the bubbles B. The floated solid material S is allowed to flow out to a fine mesh screen 23 of a separation part 14 together with the treating water F1. The solid material S is separated from the treating water F1 by the means of the fine mesh screen 23. Even the relatively fine solid material S can be floated by the bubble-forming vessel 13 and can be separated by means of the fine mesh screen 23 without using a relatively high- cost coagulant.
