PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose light irradiation apparatus for dental photopolymerizable composite resin capable of not only carrying out efficient and complete polymerization hardening of dental photopolymerizable composite resin using a combination of camphor quinone and tertiary amine as a photopolymerization catalyst but carrying out polymerization hardening of dental photopolymerizable composite resin using acyl phosphine oxide as a newly developed photopolymerization initiator. SOLUTION: This light irradiation apparatus for the dental photopolymerizable composite resin is provided with two kinds of LEDs as a light source, which are the blue light radiating LED 5 having a peak in the emission wavelength of 450 nm-490 nm, and the near ultraviolet ray and/or purple light radiating LED 6 having a peak in the emission wavelength of 370 nm-410 nm. The apparatus is also provided with a changeover switch 7 for simultaneously lighting two kinds of LEDs or lighting only the near ultraviolet ray and/or purple light radiating LED 6.
