PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping cloth having a cut pile structure by which contamination taken into the wiping surface is easy to remove at the time of washing for the wiping cloth being detachable from the base of a cleaning utensil by a hook-and-loop fastener mechanism. SOLUTION: This wiping cloth has cut pile yarns including a peel-dividing type composite fiber on the wiping surface. The peel-dividing type composite fiber which constitutes the cut pile yarn is partially peel-divided. Also, the rear surface on the opposite side from the wiping surface has an engaging function in such a manner that a fiber yarn having a loop group made of a synthetic fiber filament is knitted in as one part of the base yarn.
