PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb/relax/reduce a fifth wheel shock load that increases in proportion to the speed at the time of emergency braking and loading of a semi-trailer, and transmit the load to the tractor. SOLUTION: A coupler base 1 of the tractor is fitted on a pitching shaft by a rolling shaft 2. Both ends of the pitching shaft 1 are fitted on right and left parts of an upper fixing part of a shock absorbing arm 4. A support fitting part inside the shock absorbing arm 4 is fitted on a fitting base 8 to a frame 11 by a hinge shaft 5. Both ends of a transmission shaft 6 are fitted to a lower fitting part of the shock absorbing arm 4. The fifth wheel shock load is reduced by absorbing/relaxing/receiving the shock load by a coil spring and a shock absorber fitted on the transmission shaft. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
