<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solidification method which enables the fixation of chlorine and harmful substances of a heavy metal family in waste containing chlorine and enables the effective utilization of resources and to provide a solidified body which hardly causes the elution of chlorine to environments and prevents the alkalization of the surrounding environment by using the solidification method. <P>SOLUTION: In the solidification method of waste, a solidifying material consisting essentially of blast furnace granulated slag and a promoter is mixed with the waste in the presence of water and the waste is solidified. Therein, the solidifying material further contains gypsum. Furthermore, the promoter is steel-making slag and it is preferable that the steel-making slag is hot metal desulfurization slag and is the steel-making slag after the aging treatment.
