PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely discharge a molding sand from a casting by a vibration imparted to the entire casting by the sand in the casting and by an impact force to be imparted to the casting by a hammer. SOLUTION: A method for dropping the sand of the casting comprises the steps of: fixing the casting 10 to a support member 11; hitting a plurality of positions suitable for collapsing the sand 18 in the casing 10 while vibrating the member 11; and imparting the vibration to the casting 10. The vibration is imparted to the casting 10 by the member 11, and the plurality of positions of the casting 10 are hit by the hammer 42 with an impact in such a state. Accordingly, the casting 10 receives the impact force at the plurality of the positions. Thus, the sand 18 in the casting is released from the inner surface of the casting at the plurality of the positions and simultaneously starts to be collapsed. Further, the continuous vibration is synergistically operated to further finely crush the molding, and sand is discharged from the opening of the casting 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
