PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the steam removing device of a container constituted so as to prevent a liquid from reaching a suction means to the utmost and generating no trouble in the suction means during a short period of time. SOLUTION: A high temperature liquid 5 is housed in the hermetically closed tank-shaped container 1. A pipeline 6, a gas-liquid separator 3 and the suction means 2 are successively connected through a circulating passage 4 above the container 1. A pipe 12 is attached to the lower part of the gas-liquid separator 3 to be connected to the inside of the container 1. Steam evaporated from the high temperature liquid 5 in the container 1 is partially condensed during the flow-down from the pipeline 6 to the gas-liquid separator 3 to become liquid drops. The gas and liquid of the mixed fluid of liquid drops and steam are separated in the gas-liquid separator 3 and only steam separated from the liquid flows in the suction means 2.
