PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing water-insoluble porogen, not destructing the desired porosity of a copolymer even if the copolymer contains a very small amount of a crosslinking agent. SOLUTION: The water-insoluble porogen is removed from macroreticular copolymer beads in the presence of a water-soluble organic solvent. This method includes the distillation of porogen.
