PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid detector which closes a valve element within a shutoff valve accurately before the valve element of the body is opened with a reduced pressure on the secondary side in a type installed on a dry type sprinkler fire extinguishing equipment. SOLUTION: In the fluid detector used in the dry type sprinkler fire extinguishing equipment, an intermediate chamber 14 is provided on a valve seat surface of the body 10 and the intermediate chamber 14 communicates with the secondary side 12 through a duct 15. The valve element is normally closed on the duct, a pressure reduction actuating valve 20 is installed to open the duct 15 when a reduction in pressure occurs on the secondary side 12 and a shutoff valve 50 is installed to block the infiltration of the fluid into the pressure reduction actuating valve 20 after the pressure reduction actuating valve 20 opens the duct 15. The shutoff valve 50 has a valve element for closing the duct 15 inside so as to let the pressure working on the valve element 13 within the fluid detector be applied as intact to the valve element of the shutoff valve 50. The area ratio between the own valve element and the shutoff valve 50 is larger than that between the own valve element 13 and the fluid detector. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
