<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a means for stably providing a lithium-containing double oxide which has such a high tap density as to give full play to a satisfactory performance of an activator for a positive pole in a lithium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The particular lithium-containing double oxide such as lithium - manganese double oxide has a composition in which the ratio of the number of 'double oxide particles comprising the sintering unification of a base particle on the surface thereof with lithium-enriched substance particles abnormally grown in a baking reaction' shown in figure 1 relative to the double oxide particles of 1 gram is 50 or less. The method for manufacturing this lithium- containing double oxide can be performed by mixing of a metal oxide such as manganese oxide and the lithium carbonate having an average particle diameter of 5 μm or less using a mixer of a type of pulverization and blend by shearing force, then the baking thereof by heat at a programmed temperature rate of 50°C/h or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
