<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new material usable as a positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery stably chargeable and dischargeable at a working voltage range (about 4 V) similar to that of a conventional lithium cobalt oxide positive electrode material by using a low-priced material abundant in resources. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ferrite composite oxide has a composition of Li<SB>1+x</SB>(Ti<SB>1-y-z</SB>Fe<SB>y</SB>Ni<SB>z</SB>)<SB>1-x</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein, 0≤x≤0.33, 0<y≤0.95, 0<z≤0.5, and 0<y+z<1) and a cubic rock-salt structure. A method of manufacturing it, a positive electrode material, and a lithium ion secondary battery using the same are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
