<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator which can avoid the increase in the size of its reaction apparatus due to a raw material supply means such as spray ejection. <P>SOLUTION: Hydrogen H is generated in a hydrogen generator 1 by the dehydrogenation of a hydrogenated derivative HA (for example, a saturated hydrocarbon) of an aromatic compound A (for example, an aromatic hydrocarbon) by contacting with a heated catalyst.
