PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deodorant usable without generating a feeling of physical disorder upon the contact with the body and especially effective for deodorizing an article around the body such as a diaper or the like. SOLUTION: A deodorizing composition is prepared by compounding a metal salt of a fatty acid, an inorganic metal compound and a carbonyl compound with a styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer.
