PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler for cushion materials which is environmentally friendly and has excellent natures. SOLUTION: The filler for cushion materials comprises foamed particle of an aliphatic polyester based resin composition and the foamed particle of a polylactic acid resin is used the most preferably. In the shape, the foamed particle is preferably spherical, similar to a barrel, roughly cylindrical or roughly columnar. The foamed particle made of a polylactic acid resin excels in biodegradability and breathing properties along with an excellent resistance to mildews, highly resists crushing and makes itself washable whole at a time with a moderate hardness. A remarkable property is a sufficient restorability after the deformation which makes the particle easily restore the original shape by heating treatment such as drying under the sun or exposure to hot air though once deformed. Also provided is a cushion material having the foamed particle packed into a bag body formed of polylactic acid fibers and the cushion material excels in antibacterial and anti-mildew performances.
