PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficient conduct depilation treatment without giving a user a painful and itchy feeling. SOLUTION: The salt in a hair root cell around a skin face 29 brought into face contact with a planar electrode 5 is electrolyzed to produce sodium hydroxide by bringing the planar electrode 5 of a depilation device 1 into face contact with the skin face 29 to be depilated of the body and by applying a voltage by a control unit 2 so that a rod-like electrode 3 is a positive electrode and the planar electrode 5 is a negative electrode in a state that a user holds the rod-like electrode 3. This constitution induces the protein degeneration and degradation of the cell in a hair root part with the sodium hydroxide, an alkaline material, to realize the depilation treatment. Since the depilation device 1 is used by bringing the planar electrode 5 into face contact with the skin face 29 to be depilated, an electric current is not locally and intensively sent and there is no fear to give the user the painful and itchy feeling. Moreover, the depilation treatment can be performed at a time over a wide range by the planar electrode 5 brought into face contact and the efficient depilation treatment is realized.
