PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation having effects on suppression or amelioration of skin inflammations and skin roughening with ultraviolet rays and further an excellent feeling of use. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation is obtained by formulating an extract from a plant of the genus Clintonia of the family Uvulariaceae and one or more kinds selected from an ultraviolet absorber and an ultraviolet scattering agent in combination therein. One or more species selected from Clintonia borealis and Clintonia udensis are preferred as the plant of the genus Clintonia. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
