摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heating a glass article which can obtain an enough calorific value to perform good thermal processing of the glass article. SOLUTION: A voltage E to be applied to the induction coil 19 of an induction furnace 2 is calculated by using a heating element 15 and the induction coil 19 which meet the conditions of Lc≤Ls and D/Lc>3 when the diameter of the induction coil 19 is D, the length of the heating element 15 is Ls, and the length of the induction coil 19 is Lc. Namely, when the voltage is E, the current is I, the capacity of a capacitor arranged in the induction coil as a parallel circuit is C, the resistance of the induction coil 19 is Rc, the resistance of the heating element 15 is Rs, and R=Rc+Rs×Lc/Ls, the voltage obtained by E=(I×L)/(R×C) is applied to the induction coil 19 for the thermal processing of the glass article.
