PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust relative positional relation of a print head and an ink absorption sponge for frameless print automatically in the process for making a printer. SOLUTION: With regard to a regular size sheet being set to match the endmost part of an ink absorber, positions at the left and right end parts of a print sheet are detected by means of an edge sensor along with the position at the forward end part of the sheet, paint out printing is performed for an area formed while having a specified margin, a correction value is calculated based on an error between the position of the sheet end part and the specified margin, and then the positional relation of the print head and the ink absorber is adjusted based on the correction value.
